In spite the extremely unfavorable negotiating position, BiH should fulfill the conditions for full membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO) by the end of the year, as announced by the member of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) Mirsad Isakovic.

While addressing participants of the parliamentary conference on facilitating trade and investment in the territory of Mediterranean, which was just finished in Rabat, Isakovic noted that the difficult position of small countries is not mentioned enough, since, as he said, large markets are mostly reserved for large economies.

As he said, the creation of a more favorable political climate within BiH and in regional frameworks would largely contribute to the accelerated development of the economy and the interest of investors in BiH, as stated from the Parliament of BiH.

During the two-day conference, which was organized by the IMP and the WTO, parliamentarians from Mediterranean countries exchanged their experiences and information on best practices that are implemented with the aim to facilitate trade exchanges and investment increase. They also talked about the role of legislative institutions in the countries of the region when it comes to enabling faster flow of goods and capital.

It was emphasized that PAM, as a forum for dialogue, can contribute to the process of finding constructive solutions for overcoming obstacles to the development of trade and investments and that, together with the WTO, it can contribute to strengthening cooperation and building of confidence in countries in the Mediterranean region.

Member of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean Semsudin Mehmedovic attended the conference as well.
