Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović, met today in London with Baroness Arminka Helić, a member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom.

The meeting was held on the eve of the Remembering Srebrenica commemoration, and in light of the current political and economic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and the world.

Member of the Presidency of BiH, Komšić, exchanged views with his interlocutors on the importance of preserving peace and stability in our country and the region, emphasizing that the European Union should play a significant role in this process.

“When we talk about the problems that Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing, these problems must be solved by the actors in our country while respecting the institutional framework, the rule of law and democratic principles,” Komšić emphasized after today’s meeting.

Baroness Helić confirmed her full support for preserving peace, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for the further continuation of reform processes in line with Euro-Atlantic integration.

“This meeting sent a message about the importance of preserving the memory of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, but also about the determination to prevent any attempts at denial or revisionism of historical facts,” the Office of BiH Presidency Member Željko Komšić said.
