The Federal Police Administration (FUP) announced the statement of the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, that the coordinator and two deputy coordinators in the National Joint Contact Point of Bosnia and Herzegovina with EUROPOL gave their consent to the establishment of a SIENA extension to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska for direct exchange of information with EUROPOL.

“The Deputy Coordinator at the National Joint Contact Point of Bosnia and Herzegovina with EUROPOL from the Federal Police Administration did not give consent for the establishment of the SIENA extension to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, as claimed by the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the FUP statement claims.

It is added that the Federal Police Administration has a clear position that the improvement of cooperation with EUROPOL is one of the key priorities of all competent authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“No one has the right to obstruct the cooperation with EUROPOL, from which all competent authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina benefit when it comes to the fight against emerging forms of crime,” the FUP states.

The Federal Police Administration insists and will continue to insist on the consistent application of the Agreement on Operational and Strategic Cooperation between BiH and EUROPOL and the Rulebook on the Work and Operational Cooperation of the National Joint Contact Point of BiH with EUROPOL.

“Due to the protection of the interests of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and EUROPOL, the Federal Police Administration has no intention of entering into a discussion with the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, whom we hereby invite to stop interfering in the work of the National Joint Contact Point of BiH with EUROPOL and its statements to harm all attempts to overcome challenges and problems. We also ask Minister Nešić to stop commenting on the work on SKY cases, which, as a politician, he should not have insight into. Such statements undermine the work of judicial bodies and police agencies on serious criminal cases “, it was announced from the Federal Police Administration.

The Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, previously announced that an extension was made today in terms of direct communication from the National/Joint Contact Point (N/ZKT) for cooperation with EUROPOL according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska (MUPRS).
