brodacThe newly opened gallery in the old part of Sarajevo that was named Brodac after the street in which it is located, last night hosted lovers of art on the second collective exhibition in its premises.

In the building of the former prison next to the City Hall, visitors will have the opportunity to take a look on around 140 works by 21 BH artists in the next month.

According to Mak Hubjer, who is the owner of the gallery together with his father Muhamed, among well-known names are also the students of the Academy of Fine Arts.

“Our primary goal is to promote BH contemporary exhibitions and young artists who do not have access to institutions. The aim of the gallery and the exhibition is to try to create a market of contemporary BH art which also does not exist,” said Hubjer.

Last night, following authors presented their works: Pierre Courtin, Nina Komel, Dženan Hadžihasanović, Saša Tatić, Edo Vejselović, Selma Selman, Velma Babić, Džejlana Karaman, Alma Gačanin, Nikola Kekerović, Emir Mutevelić, Mila Panić, Sunita Fišić, Amir Ćatić, Esma Hajrić, Amer Dorić, Adela Jusić, Nardina Zubanović, Vanja Solaković and Zlatan Hadžifejzović.

Sculptor Hadžifejzović, who is also a member of the psychedelic Sarajevo band “Činčila”, presented his sculptures that were made from discarded materials.

“I find inspiration in my surroundings, and mostly in the largest ore – garbage and the lack of recycling and awareness of individuals for saving,” said Zlatan.
