The Commander of the United States (U.S.) Special Operations Command in Europe, Major General David Tabor, stated yesterday in Sarajevo that the U.S. as an ally will continue to strengthen its partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
”In the past, we enjoyed the partnership with the Armed Forcesof BiH (AFBiH) and we are looking forward to continuing to develop our excellent relations, ” emphasized General Tabor after meeting with Deputy Chief of Staff of the AFBiH for Operations, Major General Ivica Jerkic.
At the same time, he praised the AFBiH on the recent establishment of the Military Information Center, emphasizing its readiness to assist in developing the center’s capacity through the Regional Information Support Team, in order to establish a stronger link between the AFBiH and citizens of BiH.
Also, General Tabor emphasized the exceptional activities carried out by the AFBiH Civil-Military Cooperation Team in coordination with the U.S. Special Operations Command team in Europe, all with the aim of better preparing for the response to possible crisis situations.
”Training with our partners enhances our ability to work together in all circumstances. The skills, common way of working, and relations developed during these exercises are directly applicable to all other scenarios, which means that if there are natural disasters and the like, we can respond quickly and efficiently as a team and provide assistance to citizens, ” stated General Tabor.
Answering a journalist’s question about the extent to which the cooperation between the Armed Forces of two countries is affected by the announcement by BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik that the Republika Srpska (RS) entity will form its own army, the U.S. general said the U.S. continues to support the integrity of BiH.
”The U.S. and my forces as a NATO ally continue to support the unity of BiH and will continue to support this country in maintaining stability and security as it was the case before, ” mentioned General Tabor, Federalna writes.
