The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Margret Uebber, commented on Dodik’s latest statements on the debate in the German Bundestag on April 6th and on the intentions for Germany’s renewed participation in the EUFOR / Althea mission.
According to Uebber, after Dodik’s constructive tone in a conversation with Federal Minister Baerbock a few weeks ago, she was surprised by the content and tone of his current statements, Klix.ba writes.
”Dodik then said unequivocally that the increase in EUFOR / Althea and Germany’s participation in the mission were welcome. Yesterday’s public statements are diametrically opposed and call into question the credibility of his statements,”the German ambassador said in a statement yesterday.
She added that she resolutely rejects the insulting statements addressed to the German Bundestag and the German delegate.
”We strongly reject nationalist and inflammatory rhetoric, inadequate historical comparisons, and the denial and even glorification of war crimes and genocide, especially given the current situation. We cannot tolerate attacks on the united state of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), because they endanger peace and reconciliation,” Uebber added.
She concluded that the European Protection Force is a recognized anchor of stability for the people of BiH. It is right and important that we examine participation.
We remind you that the day before yesterday, at a press conference, Dodik compared the arrival of German soldiers in BiH with the Nazi invasion from the Second World War, saying that they were not welcome in our country.
He also insulted the physical appearance of the SPD Bundestag envoy for the Western Balkans, Adis Ahmetovic.
”When I see him he reminds me of those Hitler-Jugend (The Hitler Youth was a youth organization of the Nazi Party in the Second World War),” Dodik said.
