The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Defense for Policy and Plans Slaven Galić, signed today with the military attache of the Federal Republic of Germany in BiH, Colonel Franz Josef Nolte, a technical arrangement between the Ministry of Defense of BiH and the Federal Republic of Germany on the donation of funds to the Center for training for peace support operations and demining battalion, with a total value of 410,000 euros.

The funds from the Technical Arrangement between the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Republic of Germany on the donation of funds and the Annex to the Technical Arrangement are intended to support the repair of heating and cooling systems and the procurement of IT equipment for the Training Center for Peace Support Operations (PSOTC) in the amount of 350,000 euros and support for demining battalion worth 60,000 euros.

This is another financial aid this year, which is implemented as part of the aid package, which the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany donates to the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Defense Minister Helez said on this occasion that the Federal Republic of Germany, as a member state of NATO and the EU, is an important foreign policy partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a respectable partner on BiH’s path towards EU and NATO integration. He expressed his satisfaction with the initiated initiative of Germany to approach the arrangement of infrastructure and facilities where the members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina live, through the implementation of projects, and thanked for the significant donations so far, as well as the support in the education and training of our personnel in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Military attaché in BiH, Colonel Nolte, said that this year the number of infrastructure projects for the Armed Forces of BiH has increased significantly, and announced that in the next year, too, work will be done on the implementation of infrastructure projects at all locations of the Armed Forces of BiH, guided exclusively by the requirements of the Ministry of Defense of BiH . He also pointed out that by signing another contract by the end of the year, the total value of the FR Germany’s donations to the BiH Ministry of Defense would amount to around 6.5 million euros.

In the end, the interlocutors confirmed their readiness for further improvement of cooperation, and expressed their belief that the bilateral defense cooperation plan will be signed in the next year, announced the BiH Ministry of Defense.
