In the first six months of this year, the Unis Ginex Company from Goražde made a profit of 12.4 million BAM, according to the data from the half-year financial report, BiznisInfo.ba wrote. This is a somewhat weaker result compared to the same period in the previous year, when the profit amounted to 16.65 million BAM.
The company’s total first-half profits amounted to 44.17 million BAM, compared to the 45.57 million BAM the previous year, while the total expenditures rose from 28.92 million to 31.76 million BAM.
Higher Labor Costs
The highest increase was recorded in the costs of salaries and other personal earnings, which increased from 18.47 million to 21.65 million BAM. At the same time, the company made 40.93 million BAM profit from sales, with the vast majority still coming from exports, which brought in more than 31.6 million KM.
One of the most successful Bosnian and Herzegovinian companies, Unis Ginex, has in recent years recorded strong business growth thanks to a great demand for defense industry products. The company has recently paid out 10 million BAM in dividends, following record business results that solidified its position as one of the most successful defense industry companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The majority owner of Ginex is the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with 51 percent of the shares. The biggest private shareholder of Ginex is a businessman from Goražde, Halil Oković. He owns 15.29 percent of the company’s shares. His company has 7.69 percent, meaning that together, they control around 23.6 percent of the property in Ginex.
As a reminder, Ginex has recently started a cooperation with the Aselsan company—one of the largest Turkish military companies. This is a long-term cooperation through joint development of new technological solutions, and the aim is to open room for new investments and to launch mutual production in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
