Representatives of the Giro di Sarajevo organization spent the previous days in Ljubljana, where they participated in the largest conference on urban mobility in the world called Velo-city conference.
Among other things, the conference discussed the promotion of cycling, modern cycling solutions, but also the re-examination of urban space, innovation, as well as better integration of cyclists into wider traffic.

On that occasion, the mayor of Sarajevo Benjamina Karic addressed the conference, who together with the mayors of Banja Luka, Novi Sad, Ljubljana and Dubrovnik was a guest at the main plenary session where they talked about promoting Sarajevo as a tourist destination, but also the importance of urban mobility.

Finally, the Giro di Sarajevo association announced that this year, for the first time after a two-year break, the Giro di Sarajevo event, which is traditionally reserved for September, will be held.

“Mayor Benjamina Karic was a guest at the main plenary session. Together with the mayors of Ljubljana, Banja Luka, Novi Sad and Dubrovnik, she spoke about the importance of urban mobility, future development plans, but also the promotion of Sarajevo as a tourist destination, which reminded us a lot of our Giro di Sarajevo, which will be held again on the first Sunday in September after a two-year pandemic break, “the association said.

The last Giro di Sarajevo was held on September 22, 2019, and about 2,500 cyclists took part in it, Klix.ba writes.
