Globall VillageLast Sunday, the local office of AIESEC in Sarajevo hosted this year’s second fair of culture called “Global Village”.

AIESEC is an organization that operates in 126 countries around the world, and it offers many opportunities for young people including the Global Volunteer – program of voluntary exchange.

On this occasion in the Alta shopping center gathered practitioners from 11 countries: Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Italy, China, Malaysia, Germany, Oman, Romania and Turkey. Practitioners will spend six weeks in Sarajevo where they will actively work on projects “Revolution”, “Women of Tomorrow” and “Let’s Get Green”.

The goal of these projects is to improve the work of non-governmental organizations and cultural institutions and to contribute to local community.

Practitioners had the opportunity to present themselves, their country, culture and cities where they live through the Global Village event! They traditionally presented their countries through local food and drinks, and visitors had the opportunity to learn about the cultures and traditions of these countries through souvenirs that practitioners prepared.

Global Village is an event that aims to connect culture, overcome differences, prejudices and stereotypes.

All interested young people who want, as these practitioners, to get volunteer experience beyond the borders of BiH and to develop many teamwork and leadership skills by working in an international environment, can visit the site aiesec.opportunities.org and find the ideal opportunity for themselves.
