Croatian Leader announced the territorial Reorganization of BiH

A two-day event of the HDZ Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was held in Vitez, which brought together officials from all levels of executive and legislative power, as well as candidates of this party in the upcoming elections for all levels of government.

The result is that the HDZ, that is, the Croatian National Assembly (HNS), will be the convincing winners of the 2022 elections, said HDZ leader Dragan Covic, referring to the amendments to the BiH Election Law and the recent statements of High Representative Christian Schmidt. He repeated that the HNS will not give up on territorial reorganization unless there is “complete constitutional equality and legitimate representation”.

“BiH itself should make decisions in its own institutions. However, if the high representative has recently intervened twice in the Election Law of BiH, then we expect that process to end in such a way and we do not want to get involved in that,” Covic stated.

He also recalled the protests that took place in front of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) in Sarajevo for several days due to Schmidt’s announcements.

“We are disappointed that we had a chance to saee the pictures in front of the OHR, I think that such protests are unheard of in the last twenty years in BiH. We said that they won’t lead us into that mud, we don’t want to mess with them in that part,” he stated.

He was also asked about what can be expected if the Electoral Law is not amended, and, let’s recall, Schmidt hinted at this in one of his last media appearances.

“If there is no solution regarding ensuring constitutional equality and legitimate representation, HNS will answer that clearly. We mentioned earlier that we will propose a different solution to the organization of the system, including the territorial organization of BiH. This means that we will provide rational solutions. As some propose that this be a civil state freed from entities, then it is legitimate from our side to propose changes to the Constitution of BiH that will ensure such a thing,” he answered, Radio Sarajevo reports.
