With the continuation of geological research of the company Lykos Balkan Metals d.o.o. Bijeljina, on the territory of Jezero municipality, the existence of new gold-bearing geological formations was confirmed.
This time, gold was confirmed at the Zekilova kosa locality, which is located northwest of the previously explored Otomalj locality.
The latest analysis, which was carried out in world-renowned laboratories, confirmed the existence of larger amounts of gold, which in some parts of the Zekilova Kosa locality contain up to 4.89 grams per ton.
An area of 1.2 km2 has been affected by the aforementioned investigations, and judging by the results so far, the investigation zone opens further to the northwest, where more significant results are expected.
“Additional laboratory analysis of samples identified by recent geological and geophysical research has significantly increased our research interest in the Zekilova Kosa site. Further monitoring of these excellent results is undoubtedly justified, and we expect to receive the consent of the local self-government to continue geological research as soon as possible. Our geologists, through systematic soil research, have discovered exciting surface anomalies in areas that have never been the subject of modern geological research. Our company carried out these geological activities in consultation with all meritorious factors, i.e. representatives of local communities and geological experts, placing a strict focus on the extremely important practice of environmental protection. We are looking forward to the continuation of the geological exploration works at the mentioned site and the transparent publication of possible significant research results, because such findings are of exceptional importance, both for our company and for the local community itself, but also for the Republic of Srpska,” said Mladen Lujić, executive director of the company Lykos Balkan Metals.
At the beginning of 2023, the laboratory findings of geological research at three locations have already confirmed the existence of gold-bearing geological formations at the Otomalj locality, which reach up to an incredible 27.5 grams per ton in a continuity of as much as 60 meters, Biznis Info reports.
