Edin Hasanović Golden Camera bild.deAt last night’s glamorous 51st Golden Camera Award Ceremony in Hamburg, the most beautiful surprise was Edin Hasanović, winner of the award in the category of young actors.

“I am very happy to be invited at all, because I incredibly love this profession,” said the 23-year-old Hasanović after being called out and delighted more than 1,000 spectators in the hall in Hamburg. He came out to the stage looking flushed, clenching his fists and shouting “This is serious!”

Hasanović became known for the role in the award-winning drama “Schuld sind immer die Anderen” from 2012. That was his first role in a drama, where he played the problematic young boy Ben.

After coming out to the stage, Edin tried to name all the people who are to be given credit for his success, he thanked the jury, and especially highlighted his family and his mother.

“In 1992, my mom brought me from Bosnia, in the toughest conditions, and I wonder how many people who are coming to our country now have the potential to be good directors or actors,” Hasanović said and added in Bosnian: “Mom, here it is, I love you”.

The audience then applauded him. Sitting in the audience were the Hollywood start Helen Mirren, Julianne Moore and Gerard Butler.

Edin was born in 1992 in B&H. As a baby, he migrated to Germany where he acted in several series and then in a number of films.

Take a look at the video from last night’s ceremony, and you can see Edin from 95th minute.
