With the traditional lighting of important buildings and landmarks in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Association ‘Heart for Children with Cancer’ is starting the celebration of childhood cancer awareness month tonight.

From 21:00 to 22:00, the Academy of Fine Arts and the Friendship Building between Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo will be in a golden tone.

The association “Heart for Children with Cancer” is celebrating “Golden September”, the month of raising awareness about cancer in children, with a series of activities in September. They planned with the goal of turning that month into gold, raising the awareness of society above all.

“This will not be an ordinary ‘Golden September’. This is the month when we run the race of life, when the entire community will show solidarity with children suffering from cancer. The time when we will all have the opportunity to show support and send a strong message to our little ones, that they are not alone. That we are ready to stand with them in the biggest race, the race for life,” the Association said.

The race/walk is planned for September 15 in Visoko, starting at 11 a.m. The ambassador of the race is Amra Dzeko, humanitarian and friend of children with cancer. The central location of the event will be in front of the Altindag – Visoko Cultural Center.

The goal is to collect money for children with cancer, through the sale of T-shirts for participation in the race. The event is organized by the Association “Heart for Children with Cancer” in co-organization with the “Center for Culture, Sports and Information” Visoko and the City of Visoko. The initiator is Afan Habibović from Visočan, who is fighting a brain tumor. The ambassador of last year’s race/walk was Tomislav Cvitanušić, an alpinist and above all a philanthropist who has been supporting children with cancer for years.
