In the past 24 hours, in Canton Sarajevo (CS), seven people were positive for coronavirus out of 428 people tested. Nine people recovered from Covid infection. There were no deaths from the consequences of the Covid-19 infection, as was announced yesterday.

Of the mentioned number of newly infected, four persons belong to family clusters or contacts with previously infected persons, which is why they are in self-isolation from before.

Currently, 36 patients are hospitalized in CS, 16 at the Sarajevo University Clinical Center (KCUS), and 20 at the General Hospital “Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakas” . Fortunately, not a single patient is on the respirator, and oxygen support for breathing above 15 liters per minute is not used by any of the hospitalized who are currently being treated for Covid infection in the mentioned hospitals.

In the past 24 hours, five people were released from hospitalization. CS recorded 216 active cases of Covid-19 infection, as was mentioned yesterday. There are currently 1.157 people in self-isolation.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 52.513 people infected with coronavirus and 51.016 cured people have been registered in CS. According to the data of the Institute of Public Health of CS, in the past seven days, the average number of infected is eight, while the weekly incidence, more precisely the number of infected people per 100.000 inhabitants, is 13.

61 patients were examined in the Covid clinics of the Public Institution Health Center CS, 2 were transported to the General Hospital, and 2 to the KCUS.

At the drive-in point in Vrbanja, 29 PCR samples were taken. A total of 200 PCR tests were performed at drive-in points and Covid ambulances in the past day. The Covid call center recorded 91 calls, and 121 talks were conducted with patients via telephone numbers in Covid ambulances.

To recall, the Public Institution Health Center of CS informed all citizens with symptoms of coronavirus that from today, June 7th, they will be able to go for an examination in Covid clinics at two locations each day from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., in:

  • Covid-ambulance Saraj Polje which will cover five municipalities – Novi Grad, Novo Sarajevo, Ilidza, Hadzici, and Trnovo
  • Covid-ambulance Center which will cover four municipalities – Centar, Stari Grad, Vogosca, and Ilijas.

The Vrbanja drive-in point for coronavirus testing will be opened for the entire CS from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, while other drive-in points will be closed. The testing points at the organizational units will continue to operate, as before, in the first shift.

Also, they informed that family doctors will receive calls for vaccination of all citizens who cannot register through the Viber application, as well as that they will submit lists with their names every Friday.

“When the vaccines arrive, according to the priorities, all persons from those lists will receive a notification about the dates for their vaccination,” they pointed out from the Public Health Center CS.

At the “Juan Antonio Samaranch” Olympic Hall, the immunization of oncology patients, as well as the revaccination of previously vaccinated persons, will continue today, on June 7th this year. The Ministry of Health of CS and health institutions thank the citizens for their cooperation and ask them to continue to respect all determined hygienic-epidemiological measures, Klix.ba writes.
