The Government of Japan honored Ivica Osim

ivica_osim_03The Government of Japan has announced that, as a part of the autumnal imperial award, the Order of the Rising Sun, with golden rays with a badge was given to Ivan Osim, the former coach of the national football team of Japan, as announced from the Embassy of Japan in BiH.

The award was given in recognition of his contribution to the development of football in Japan and promotion of common understanding between Japan and BiH.

Moreover, he lead the national football team of Japan and club JEF United Ichihara, and he was also a counselor of the Japanese Football Association.

„Although he had to resign due to health reasons in November 2007, he continued to advise the Japanese Football Association, thus promoting a common understanding between Japan and BiH at the same time, as stated in the description of the award.
