”The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) passed the Decision on the allocation of funds determined by the FBiH Budget for 2022 to the Federal Ministry of Finance from the economic codes of current and capital transfers to other levels of government and funds – Cantons and Municipalities.

The decision established the distribution of 10.000.000 BAM current transfers and 29.000.000 BAM capital transfers to other levels of government and funds – Cantons and Municipalities, in the name of the allocation of financial assistance to the budgets of municipalities and cities in the rehabilitation of the consequences of the declared COVID-19 pandemic, and for the financing and co-financing of projects, requests and initiatives that will be implemented in local self-government units,” asannounced from the FBiH Government Office for Public Relations.

The amount of 10.000.000 BAM, based on the Decision on determining the criteria, methods, and procedures for the allocation of funds determined by the FBiH Budget for 2022, to the Federal Ministry of Finance from the economic code “Current transfers to other levels of government and funds – Cantons and Municipalities” – municipalities and cities is allocated on the principle of solidarity, i.e. in the same amount of 125.000 BAM for 80 municipalities and cities.

On the basis of the criteria from the Decision on determining the method of distribution and the procedure for the allocation of funds determined by this year’s Budget of FBiH to the Federal Ministry of Finance from the economic code “Capital transfers to other levels of government and funds – Cantons and Municipalities” – municipalities and cities, and at the proposal of the Commission for Allocation of Funds to Municipalities and Cities from the FBiH Budget, the distribution of funds in the amount of 28.999.305.81 BAM for projects in 76 municipalities and cities was determined.

Beneficiaries of the funds are obliged to submit a report on their expenditure to the Federal Ministry of Finance no later than December 31st, 2023.

The FBiH Government will conclude individual contracts on the allocation and use of funds with the heads and mayors of municipalities and cities, which will regulate mutual rights and obligations, and the Federal Minister of Finance is authorized to sign them on behalf of the FBiH Government.
