The Government of Japan has provided grant funds in the amount of 153,517 Euro (approx. 300,250 BAM) for three projects of procuring ambulances, medical devices and renovation work for the Health Care Centres of Novi Travnik, Bijeljina and Lukavac. The Grant contracts were signed by Ambassador Masami KINEFUCHI and the directors of the aforementioned institutions, Ms. Mađar-Šimić, Ms. Đukin and Ms. Arapčić on 31 October 2023 at the Residence of the Ambassador of Japan.
The signing ceremony was as well attended by the Mayor of Novi Travnik, Mr. Dujo, the representative of the City of Bijeljina, Mr. Stanišić and Mayor of Lukavac City, Mr. Delić.
The Government of Japan granted 61,585 Euro (approx. 120,450 BAM) to the Project for Provision of Ambulance for Health Care Centre in Novi Travnik.
The project will improve their capacity of emergency treatment activities that expected to benefit approx. 1,800 patients annually from this donation.
For the Project for Provision of Ambulance for Health Care Centre in Bijeljina, the amount of 63,061 Euro (approx. 123,340 BAM) was granted. In total, annually approx. 1,700 patients are expected to receive adequate transfer service
For the Project for Provision of Equipment and Renovation for Rehabilitation Department of Health Care Centre in Lukavac, the government granted 28,871 Euro (approx. 56,460 BAM). Through the project, the Health Care Centre will be equipped with devices for the speech therapy sector, physical therapy as well as provided renovation of the rehabilitation department.
The Government of Japan has been assisting the improvement of people’s welfare, in such sectors as health care and education, demining in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the scheme of Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GAGP) which aims at directly benefitting the people at grassroots level. The total grants approved in the last 28 years amount to over 20 million Euro (approx. 39 million BAM).
