The Government of Japan decided to grant 32,567 Euro (63,658 BAM) for “Project for the Improvement of the Japanese Language and Culture Programme of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo” under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects.
Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia-Herzegovina Sakamoto Hideyuki signed the grant contract with Muhamed Dzelilovic, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo, at the Faculty’s premises.
The Project is designed to construct a classroom for Japanese language and Culture programs with new IT equipment including TV conference system which would enable online lessons with universities in Japan.
The participants including Rifat Skrijelj, Rector of the University of Sarajevo, and representatives of the Faculty thanked the government and people of Japan for the generous support and expressed their gratitude and expectations to Sophia University in Tokyo for the continued cooperation in Japanese language studies.
Ambassador Sakamoto wished the classroom to be renovated under the Project would meet growing interests among local citizens in Japanese language and culture and become a hub of Japanese studies in BiH.
