At today’s session in Sarajevo, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Decree on assistance to beneficiaries of rights in the field of veterans’ and disability protection due to the increase in the consumer price index. This regulation regulates assistance to beneficiaries of rights in the field of veteran-disability protection through a one-time financial assistance, which amounts to 100 BAM.

The general goal of the Regulation is to ensure financial and material support with the aim of improving the material status of beneficiaries of rights in the field of veterans’ and disability protection, which are financed from the funds of the FBiH Budget, due to the significant growth of the consumer price index.

For the implementation of this regulation, financial resources will be provided by redistribution of funds within the approved Budget of FBiH for 2023, in accordance with the Law on Budgets in FBiH and the Law on Execution of the Budget of FBiH for 2023.

Beneficiaries of personal and family disability benefits, monthly cash allowances based on recognition or awards, and subsistence allowances, which are realized according to federal regulations and paid from the FBiH Budget, have the right to a one-time financial assistance, and who had a recognized status of beneficiary of rights and were paid for month of April 2023. Individuals who are beneficiaries of multiple rights receive one-time financial assistance only on one basis.

The total funds for the payment of aid will be provided in the Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the section of the Federal Ministry for Veterans of the Defense and Liberation War. This ministry will pay out the one-time financial aid no later than 60 days from the date of entry into force of the decree.

One-time financial aid will be given to 102,000 beneficiaries of rights in the field of veterans’ and disability protection.

Fees for personal and family disability allowances, as well as fees for the winners of the highest war awards, are adjusted this year for the first time according to GDP growth and consumer price growth, in accordance with the set of amendments to the law in the field of veterans and disability protection adopted last year. These changes introduced the so-called The Swiss formula for calculating the base increase for the specified categories.

For the implementation of the Regulation passed today, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has secured 10.2 million BAM, the Office of the Government of FBiH for Public Relations announced.
