The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of the statements of the Prime Minister of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Canton of Goražde, Edin Ćulov, on the works on the Hranjen tunnel, which is the main financier of this most important infrastructure project for the road connection of Goražde with the capital of BiH, reminds of the financial allocations so far.
As stated by the Office of the Government of FBiH for Public Relations, namely, in addition to securing 40 million BAM from last year’s federal budget for the construction of the Hranjen tunnel, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Program of Funds Spending “Capital Transfers to Public Enterprises – Transfer for the construction of the Hranjen tunnel” in the amount of 20,000,000 BAM, determined by the FBiH Budget for 2023.
“So now we have made available 60 million BAM from the federal budget for the construction of this tunnel that will bring Goražde much closer to Sarajevo. Also, an additional 30 million BAM was secured through the Federation Highway this year. We are grateful to cantonal Prime Minister Ćulov for his moral and verbal support, which was very helpful, but unfortunately, it cannot dig even a meter of tunnel. The tunnel is being built with financial resources provided by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which Prime Minister BPC Goražde, by chance or not, forgot to mention. As a member of the construction monitoring committee, which he formed, colleague Ćulov can only monitor what is being built with the financial support provided thanks to that committee, but there are no such funds. On the other hand, the Government of the Federation has legally regulated mechanisms for monitoring infrastructure investments,” said the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalić.
According to the assessment of the expert team of Public Enterprise Autocesta FBiH, the end result will be a shortening of the construction time to a period of three years. Also, forecasts are that it will take about two years to completely break through the tunnel.
88,134,000 BAM were paid with the funds provided by the Government of the Federation until March 31 of this year for the completed works on the tunnel, while the total provided funds amount to more than 150 million BAM including all phases of the project (drafting of documentation, design, execution of works and supervision, expropriation , tunnel digging, and all works on both sides of the tunnel).
This project is a candidate in the Public Investment Program of the Federation of BiH, which is a prerequisite for the possibility of financing the implementation from the federal budget, and in accordance with the Regulation of the Government of FBiH on the creation of the Public Investment Program in FBiH. Also, the project is aligned with the Transport Strategy of the Federation of BiH 2016 – 2030, it was announced from the FBiH Government Office for Public Relations.
