Gratz proposed to ban Betting Shops in FBiH on Sundays

Representative of the Democratic Front in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dennis Gratz, today submitted amendments to the Law on Games of Chance to the parliamentary procedure.

The proposed amendments to the Law on Games of Chance of the FBiH restrict the work of companies with headquarters in the territory of the Federation of BiH, which carry out betting activities, on Sundays.

The current provisions stipulate that the working hours of betting shops can last from 7 am to 11 pm every day, regardless of whether a non-working day is determined at that time by law or other regulation.

“Given that the Ministry, through recent amendments to the Law on Internal Trade of the FBiH, limited the working hours of retail outlets to the period from Monday to Saturday, for a total duration of 90 hours per week, justifying this move by opening up the possibility for workers to ‘plan time with their family’, I believe that such an amendment to the Law is necessary, socially beneficial and in line with the above-mentioned vision and idea,” said Gratz.

The first non-working Sunday in the FBiH will apply from November 17, 2024, Klix.ba writes.
