Today, the Mayor of Sarajevo, Samir Avdić, withdrew from the agenda of the City Council session the Proposal for the Decision on the adoption of the Regulatory Plan “Quadrant C – Marijin Dvor” with the Proposal for the Decision on its implementation.

In addition to other things, the main goal of creating the plan is the urbanization of the city core of Sarajevo as the primary center to which the entire population of the city and region gravitates, reexamining the spatial organization of the quadrant in question within the city core and creating conditions for its valorization and raising the urban standard, as well as the quality of life, its refinement in the first place with the contents of social infrastructure, primarily cultural activities, business, diplomatic and consular missions, as well as public and green spaces for the gathering of citizens.

The University of Sarajevo, after the meeting of representatives of the City, UNSA and the Institute for Development Planning of CS on June 4 this year, at which the UNSA Commission’s expert analysis was considered, proposed changes to the Regulatory Plan “Quadrant C – Marijin Dvor”. He submitted to the Institute amended guidelines for amending the Proposal of the Regulatory Plan “Quadrant C – Marijin Dvor”, with the aim of better protecting the university area and improving the traffic solution.

Among the key proposals are the relocation of the planned traffic connection outside the University plot, the establishment of controlled internal traffic between the buildings of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Science, maintaining access to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering through the eastern corridor, and deleting the planned parking spaces next to the PMF facility in order to protect the laboratory and create space for a botanical garden, pedestrian zones and open educational space.

The university also requested changes to the planning solution for the facility on plot number 6, emphasizing that the residential and commercial use is not compatible with the function of the university campus. As a solution, the repurposing of the building for educational, scientific-research and cultural contents or, if this is not possible, the establishment of a special internal access road that would move public traffic to the western edge of the complex is proposed.

At the meeting of the representatives of the City of Sarajevo and the Institute for Development Planning of the KS, held on June 16 of this year, the guidelines submitted by the University were accepted, and the Institute is in charge of making corrections to the Proposal of the Regulatory Plan in accordance with them.

In the continuation of the session, the Proposal of the Decision on the amendment of the Decision on the appointment and granting of authorization to perform the functions of the president and members of the Assembly of the Public Company for the management, protection and maintenance of the facilities of the City of Sarajevo and the performance of communal and other activities of public interest of the City of Sarajevo “Sarajevo” d.o.o. will be considered.

Councilors will also consider the Proposal for a Decision on establishing the special significance for the City of Sarajevo of the “Pop Rock School Sarajevo” Association.

On the agenda are two reports on the work and operations of JP “Olimipjski bazen Otoka” d.o.o. Sarajevo for the year 2025, and a report on the implementation of the Decision on scholarships for secondary school students from the Budget of the City of Sarajevo, according to the Competition for scholarships for secondary school students from the Budget of the City of Sarajevo for the school year 2025/2026. year.

The councilors will also have the opportunity to receive information about the implementation of the pedestrian bridge construction project from Bihaćka Street, about the maintenance and arrangement of watercourses in the area of the City of Sarajevo, and the status of the Vidikovac facility, Fena writes.
