HahnJohannes Hahn said that decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH must be respected.

EU Neighborhood & Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn, who participated in a meeting of foreign ministers of the European Union in Bratislava over the weekend, said that the Referendum that is planned to be organized by leaders in BH entity of the RS should be reconsidered and that decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH must be respected.

“What I expect in BiH, as well as in all other countries, is that the decision of the court, especially the Constitutional Court, must be respected. I have to admit that this is not the first time that decisions of the court are not respected. It is important to develop a certain understanding of the rule of law and the tasks that these institutions have,” said Hahn, adding that he hopes to find a way to resolve this problem.

“I think we should think more about the referendum, but on the other hand, I repeat once again – the court’s decision must be kept in mind and they must be respected. I do not want to get involved in this more, but once again I emphasize – the court’s decision must be respected,” concluded EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn.
