Halid Bešlić, one of the most famous and beloved musicians in the former Yugoslavia, has died in Sarajevo at the age of 72.

The legendary singer’s health had been seriously impaired for a long time, as evidenced by his last concert, which was held in Banja Luka. During his performance, Bešlić had difficulty moving around the stage and spent most of the concert sitting on a chair. At one point, he admitted to the audience that he was not feeling well.

Shortly after, news arrived that he had been urgently hospitalized at the University of Sarajevo Clinical Center.

Born on November 20, 1953 in Knežina near Sokolac, Bešlić left an indelible mark on the music scene, and his career, which spanned more than four decades, was marked by numerous hits.

During his career, he released more than ten studio albums, sold hundreds of thousands of records, and held countless concerts around the world.

In addition to music, he was also known for his humanitarian work.

A few weeks before his death, he published an emotional song dedicated to his wife, Sejda, whom he emphasized for years as the greatest support in his life and career.
