The Palestinian movement Hamas rejected the mediator’s proposals for a temporary truce with Israel and a partial exchange of prisoners, because it does not believe that they are in line with the interests of the Palestinians, an unnamed source from the Hamas leadership said.
“These proposals are not in accordance with the needs of our people when it comes to security, stability, rescue and reconstruction work and the continuation of the normal functioning of border crossings, especially in Rafah,” said the source.
According to the sources, the proposals do not include a complete cessation of Israeli attacks, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, or the return of refugees.
