The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, said at the session of the UN Security Council that BiH has done a lot in the way of Euro-Atlantic integration.
“We have always been a victim of aggression by other countries, our problem is the desire to destroy the country. The UN adopted the Resolution on Genocide, we must not forget that the genocide against Bosniaks was the culmination. Serbia is the only country in the world that violated the Resolution on the Prevention of the Crime of Genocide. Their policy is followed by politics in the RS. They included war criminals Ratko Mladić and Radovan Karadžić as heroes in the curriculum. The restoration of the “Greater Serbia” project is being sought, this is not my personal remark, but the PIC unanimously concluded that the ruling coalition in the RS is attacking the constitutional order in BiH, territorial integrity and its multi-ethnic character,” he said.
He added that it is important to respect that sovereignty belongs to BiH, that entities cannot exist outside BiH.
“The All-Serbian Parliament adopted the resolution, which was later adopted in the entity assemblies. It cannot be above the Constitution of BiH, they cannot declare military neutrality. Statements that the process of uniting Serbia and the RS has begun are dangerous. The main goal of the Serbian leadership is the gradual separation of the RS and the annexation of Serbia. They do this through parallel relationships. The All-Serbian Parliament is in contradiction with the Dayton Agreement. The High Representative could have canceled the anti-Dayton declaration, but he did not. It is not just a declaration, but a dangerous document. I call on the EU to clearly condemn the reactivation of the “Greater Serbia” project. This does not only concern BiH, but the whole of Europe. During the aggression and negotiations in Dayton, Milošević failed to divide the property of Bosnia and Herzegovina and give it to the entities, it must not be allowed to happen in peace, he said.
He pointed out that the important message is that NATO will not allow a security vacuum in BiH.
“It is necessary to strengthen the multi-ethnic state of BiH. BiH does not need selective application of conventions, BiH needs solutions to problems. The Constitution of BiH should be harmonized with the judgments of the ECtHR, we must have a political system that will give equal rights to all citizens. I would especially like to emphasize that the safety of all citizens is ensured,” he concluded.
