Haris Memija announced Fragrant Exhibition in Gallery Hanikah

haris“Smell is one of the most powerful triggers for returning into the past, i.e. for Deja vu. I will exhibit male and female fragrances, which are commonly used in the recent past and in the present time, in order to make every visitor remember the people who they may have forgotten. Memories, especially Deja vu, we cannot control, such as we cannot control the heartbeat,” said Haris Memija as announcement to his exhibition.

This sort of exhibition of ‘photos – without photos’, will be held on Thursday, the 22nd of October 2015, at 6:30 p.m. in the gallery Hanikah, next to the Kuršumli Madrasah.

Haris Memija explained how he conceptualized the exhibition:

“Perfumed ladies’ and men scarves, will be on the easels as ‘carriers’ of the scent. There I made dual symbolism: easel – painting, male scarf – male scent, women’s scarf – women scent.

I want to turn on the sense of smell with visitors of the exhibition with silence and discreetly lighted room with candles. I am glad to present the original work, which has never been seen before. So far I have had many photo exhibitions, but I am especially excited this time with exhibition of ‘photos – without photos’.
