Democrat Kamala Harris warned tens of thousands of people gathered in Washington for her largest rally that her Republican opponent Donald Trump is seeking unchecked power as their increasingly tight race for the presidency enters its final week.
Harris spoke on Tuesday night at an outdoor rally that her campaign estimated drew more than 75,000 people at a site near the White House where Trump addressed supporters on January6th, 2021, before storming the United States (U.S.) Capitol.
”We know who Donald Trump is,” – said Harris. She said the then-president sent an “armed crowd” to the U.S. Capitol to try to reverse his 2020 presidential election loss.
“This is someone who is unstable, revenge-obsessed, grievance-obsessed and seeking unchecked power,” Harris said during what her campaign called closing remarks before the hotly contested November 5th election.
More than 53 million Americans have already cast ballots, according to the Election Hub at the University of Florida, in a battle that will decide who will lead the world’s richest and most powerful nation for four years.
