Hasanovic: Securing an additional 24 million BAM completes the entire Process of Financing the Elections

Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina Muhamed Hasanović signed an instruction today to secure 24 million BAM for the implementation of the 2026 General Elections.

“With this, I have once again shown the difference between those who are building the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and those who are trying to block it. While Srđan Amidžić remained silent, procrastinated and refused to approve funds for the implementation of the elections at the request of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I took responsibility and ensured that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina could vote. That is the essence of politics, you either protect the state or block it. There is no middle ground. For months we have been hearing stories about patriotism from those who are the first to tear down institutions when they do not like the decisions of the state. They are the loudest when they insult, provoke and act like thugs in front of the cameras, but when the moment comes to make a decision in the interest of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, then responsibility and courage disappear, and institutions become a problem for them,” said Hasanović.

He emphasized that he did not allow the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH to be turned into a tool for blackmail and blockades, according to a statement from the Office of the Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina is no one’s prey, nor will the elections depend on the whim of any minister,” said Hasanović.

He added that he was particularly proud to have been part of the process by which BiH is introducing new electoral technologies for the first time by securing 112 million BAM for a more transparent and fair electoral process. Today’s decision to secure an additional 24 million BAM completes the entire process of financing the elections. This is a concrete result of work for the state, not an empty story for television appearances, he said.

“Today also showed how correct my decision was to refuse the position of Director of the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and remain in the position of Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH. If I had not stayed, these funds would probably also be subject to blockades and political games. Some politicians try every day to prove that BiH cannot function. I believe exactly the opposite and that’s why I put my signature at the service of the state, its institutions and the rights of citizens. Bosnia and Herzegovina will survive all blockades, all obstructions and all petty politicians who think they can stop the country,” said Hasanović, according to Fena.
