HDZ President spoke with the Apostolic Nuncio in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH) Dragan Čović and representative in the House of Representatives of the PSBiH Darijana Filipović held a meeting today with the Apostolic Nuncio to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Archbishop Francis Assisi Chullikatt.

The meeting discussed the current political and social situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the position of the Croatian people as a constituent nation, and the role of the Catholic Church. The interlocutors also referred to the recent visit of a delegation of Croatian officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Vatican, with an emphasis on the meetings and messages addressed to the Holy Father, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher and the State Secretary of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

The Deputy Chairman of the House of Peoples Čović expressed his gratitude to the Office of the Deputy Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the See for continuous support of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially the Catholic community and the Croatian people, emphasizing the importance of the role of the Catholic Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina in preserving identity, dialogue and the common good.

With special emphasis on the need to amend the Election Law, representative Filipović also emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Holy See and other international partners. At the same time, she stressed the importance of ensuring complete and permanent protection of the constitutional rights of the Croatian people.

At the meeting, it was concluded that dialogue, mutual trust and social stability are of particular importance for BiH, along with the need to protect and preserve Catholic values, as well as open communication and cooperation of all social and institutional levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the time ahead, announced from the Office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Čović, reports the Public Relations Department of the PSBiH.
