The head coach of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) national team Mehmed Bazdarevic has formally ceased with this function on Wednesday late night in the Estonia’s capital Tallinn, local media reported.
The contract says that Bazdarevic’s term as the head coach is only valid until the end of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, i.e. if BiH does not place in the championship with the last match.
After the match with Estonia, the last match played for the qualifications to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, Bazdarevic said at the press conference that he is ready to continue the project he has started with players.
“The result is on the first place always. I have so much energy and I am so happy that I have done this and I will be happier if I continue, “Bazdarevic said.
The Executive Board of the Football Association of BiH will decide on Oct.19 about whether Bazdarevic will continue on a position of the head coach of BiH national team.
Mehmed Bazdarevic, 57, started playing football when he was nine-years-old, later was declared as the best football player in Yugoslavia and was playing for French clubs. For the last three years, Bazdarevic is the head coach of BiH national team.
