Mostar is in the final round of voting for the new destination of the low-cost airline Eurowings.

The first round of online polls, which was carried out by the German company for seven days, was ended yesterday and Mostar was mostly in the lead, and it entered the final round as the second-placed destination after Italian Trapani.

The importance of this poll for Mostar was further emphasized by the first people of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the city of Mostar who invited all citizens to vote. Mayor Ljubo Beslic thanked everyone who supported Mostar and invited those who have not voted yet to do it.

“We initiated these activities with Eurowings, and one of the offered options is this ten-destination competition. We entered the finals as one of the top three destinations, and I would like to invite all of our citizens to vote on Wednesday, the key day, and support Mostar,” said Mayor Beslic, who also emphasized the importance of this kind of flights for the development of Mostar and Herzegovina.

Beslic said that he voted from three devices as well, and that Mostar connects with the world in this way and attracts a wealthy clientele, and he recalled that Zadar did the same just a few years ago, and it is now the top destination in Croatia.

The first round of voting was closed yesterday at 6 PM and Mostar is currently in the second place with 31.2 % of votes, right behind the Italian city of Trapani, which has a total of 31.6 %, and the third place went to Irish city of Shannon with 9.7 %.

The second round of voting starts at 3:00 PM today and, as the mayor announced, it will last for only one day.
