Head of the Islamic Community in BiH met with HR Schmidt

Reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community (IZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein Kavazović received the high representative of the international community in our country, Christian Schmidt.

During this post-Eid visit, the high representative expressed interest in commemorating the 28th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.

Reisu-l-ulema noted that it is extremely important that all public events in Bosnia and Herzegovina take place in a peaceful and dignified atmosphere.

The High Representative informed the Reisu-l-ulema that he plans to visit Rabrane near Neum as well as Mostar, and talk with local representatives of the Islamic community, as well as local authorities.

The interlocutors expressed their belief that the recent interventions of the high representative contributed to calming down the general political and security situation in Bosnia Herzegovina, MINA reported.
