Heads of Party Caucuses in the BiH Parliament to meet with OHR Representatives

The heads of party caucuses in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH) will meet tomorrow with the Deputy High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, Louis Crishock. At his invitation, the chairmen of the state-level caucuses will gather within the framework of the session of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC).

All heads of caucuses in the House of Representatives of the PSBiH have received the invitation, and according to previous announcements, only representatives of parties from the Federation of BiH will attend.

“I am pleased that this meeting will take place not only in a formal sense to mark three decades since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, but also to specifically highlight the risks facing Bosnia and Herzegovina. We need to point out the destabilization of the process and try to find solutions at the current crossroads that BiH is at. It is good that the meeting is being held because of the possibility of obstruction regarding the negotiating framework, which means BiH’s entry into the European Union, and that irrevocably,” Nihad Omerović, head of the People and Justice (NiP) Club in the House of Representatives of the state parliament, told Fena.

The Deputy High Representative did not specify the topics of the meeting, but Šerif Špago, head of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Club in the BiH PA, believes that current political issues will be discussed.

“I think that the status of state property will be discussed, what to do to improve the economic and social situation in the country before the 2026 General Elections. I also believe that the filling of the Constitutional Court of BiH, as well as the obligation to implement court rulings, will be discussed,” said Špago.

Saša Magazinović, head of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) BiH Club, confirmed that he received an invitation to the meeting sent on behalf of the High Representative by his Deputy Louis Crishock, and that he will respond.

“I will use the opportunity to exchange views on a number of current topics with the High Representative and the political directors and other representatives of the PIC member states present,” said Magazinović.

The head of the Democratic Front (DF) Club, Milan Dunović, as well as Jasmin Emrić, head of the Mixed Club, also confirmed their participation in the meeting.

The heads of the clubs of the ruling political parties from Republika Srpska will not attend the meeting, and it is still unknown whether representatives of the opposition from that entity will attend. The chairwoman of the SDS-PDP-For Justice and Order parliamentary group, Mira Pekić, told Fena that she would know the information regarding tomorrow’s meeting tomorrow.

The meeting is scheduled for 5 pm and is planned to last until 7 pm in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
