Thirteen-Year-Old Lamija Collected 10.000 Bottles, Donated Money to Charity

The Municipality of Vogosca can boast its young heroine, thirteen-year-old Lamija Djozo, a girl who has shown that persistence and humanity can make a real difference, even when many adults still postpone it.

Her story, shared by Cantonal Public Utility Company Rad Sarajevo, reminds us that big results often begin with small steps.

From the first recycling bin placed in front of the Sarajevo City Center (SCC) to those in Vogosca, Lamija tirelessly put in bottle after bottle, always choosing the option to donate to the organization Pomozi.ba. For her, recycling is not only a useful habit but a way to help both nature and people at the same time.

In a short period, she managed to collect more than 10.000 plastic bottles, proving that one person’s dedication can have a huge impact on the community. Her effort and humanity were recognized and awarded the Plaque of the Municipality of Vogosca, a well-deserved honor for a girl who, although only 13 years old, is already changing the environment she lives in.

The organization Pomozi.ba expressed special gratitude:

“Lamija shows how new generations understand that small actions can make a big difference. Her heart, dedication, and care for nature and others inspire everyone around her,” the organization said.

Lamija has shown by her deeds that change should not be waited for – it is made. Cantonal Public Utility Company Rad Sarajevo says her example proves there are no excuses or obstacles, and that to start, often one step and one less bottle in nature is enough.
