Several hundred people from all the parts of Una-Sana Canton (USK), despite the rain, gathered today at the City Square in Bihać, in order to express their dissatisfaction through peaceful protests.
Above all, the Assembly of USK fulfilled only 2 requests of citizens out of 13. The Prime Minister of USK Hamdija Lipovača resigned, and the Cantonal Assembly abolished the so-called “white bread”, or the monetary privileges that politicians used to have after the end of the mandate.
Protestors require the fulfillment of other requests, primarily the formation of parliamentarian commission, which would follow the implementation of requests and this commission to consist by representatives of an informal group of citizens “Bosansko proljeće”. The dissatisfied citizens expressed their disappointment on the mandate proposal. They do not like the proposed solution, because as they say, the proposed one belongs to a political party.
About 50 citizens gathered in Mostar in front of the building of Herzegovina -Neretva Cantonal Assembly, where they greeted the resignation of the President of the legislative body, and they pointed out that they do not give up on other requests, above all the resignation of the Cantonal government.
“We have required from the Assembly an urgent meeting to clarify our request, but this meeting is scheduled for 28 February, and we think that they are trying to buy time. Gentlemen, 17 years have been running away of responsibilities. That was enough!”, said a member of the Plenum of citizen of Mostar Denis Drljević.
New protests are announced for today at 16:00 at the Spanish Square, although protestors did not get an official permission for this gathering.
