heatingDistrict heating of the city of Banja Luka started heating up its facilities on Sunday, the 11th of October, thus officially started this year’s heating season. This year, the season starts four days earlier as all the conditions are fulfilled.

A spokesman of the District heating Zaklina Mijatovic told reporters that the radiators will be warm on Saturday, but that is so called “warm trial”, while the regular heating starts on Sunday morning.

“For now, we are having a sufficient amount of heavy oil for the start of the heating season, and activities on procurement of new amounts are taking place, so that we are expecting regular delivery of heat throughout the whole season,” said Mijatovic.

She emphasized that during the regular annual repair, in which 3.2 million BAM was invested, all detected defects and malfunctions were repaired, and around 2 kilometers of pipelines were changed, thanks to which the delivery of heat should be even better quality.

Mijatovic urged the consumers to have understanding at the very beginning of the season if the heating is not high quality during the first few days of season or if only several radiators are working, because it takes 8 to 10 days for the system to gets fully into shape and starts working properly, after which the delivery of thermal energy will be regular.

Mayor of Banja Luka, Slobodan Gavranovic, stated earlier that this year’s heating season will be regular and that the City provided a credit line for the District heating to purchase heavy oil.

He confirmed that the City invested significant financial resources in new capacities and reconstruction and repair of the existing heating network.
