A Hezbollah commander was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, Lebanese media reported.
Nabegh al-Qaderi, a member of the Hezbollah-linked Resistance Brigades, was killed when an Israeli drone struck a house in the town of Kfar Shuba, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.
Hezbollah confirmed the death of Al-Qaderi, and another Lebanese was injured in the attack.
The Resistance Brigades were founded by Hezbollah in 1997 to resist the Israeli occupation forces in southern Lebanon.
Tensions flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid occasional exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah.
Tensions have arisen over Israel’s military offensive on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7.
At least 159 Hezbollah members have been killed since the conflict broke out in October, the Lebanese group said.
