The students of the Secondary Technical School “Hasib Hadzovic” from Gorazde are cleaning and organizing martyr cemetery in Kolijevke for a few days, within which they are returning whiteness to tombstones. They stated that they decided to do it as a sign of gratitude to people who gave their lives for our freedom.

“Our Council of Students came up with the idea to clean the cemetery. It is the month of Ramadan, the cemetery should be arranged and we need to return white colour to tombstones. We are satisfied with what we are doing. That’s the least we can do,” said Mirnes Starhonic, one of the students.

This idea was supported by the management of the school, and they received the consent from the Organization of Families of Martyrs and killed Soldiers, as well as the responsible cantonal ministry.

“Students spend one school class here, it is a great idea and we happily accepted it. So far, we managed to arrange more than 50 graves and we returned white colour to these tombstones. The firefighters are providing water for us, we secured the logistics and I believe that we will manage to arrange a complete cemetery by Friday,” said Rifet Becic, the director of the school.

Students of mechanical engineering were working on the arrangement of the cemetery, and students of the traffic and construction occupation will join them in the upcoming days.
