Students of the International High School Zenica sold fruit salads and cocktails to their school colleagues and teachers, which they made by themselves with the aim to raise funds for the purchase of hygienic products for teenagers from the home for abandoned children “Dom-porodica” in Zenica.

The project “From fructose to happiness” is another one in a series that was realized by chemistry teacher Maja Pelo with the aim to make other children happy with her students.

“It is a humanitarian, entertaining and educational campaign that we are realizing for the second year in a row now. We made a project under the title” One student – one cookie” in the first year and we bought gift packages for children from this home, and this year we decided to help teenagers by purchasing hygienic products,” said Pelo.

She added that they wanted to show how important is to eat fresh fruit in an interesting and healthy way and thus help themselves and others.

One of the students who made fruits salads and cocktails is Enida Ribic, the second class student. Although she did not participate in last year’s humanitarian campaign, she is very happy to do that this year.

“These activities are helping us to create a human habit in our lives. This teaches us a great lesson, and the majority of us will accept this as a lifestyle for sure.”

Tara Karabasic is also a second-grade student, and this is her second year of participating in humanitarian campaigns for help to the home for abandoned children “Dom- porodica”. She believes that these kinds of projects should be realized in all schools and that they are good for their future.

Entire income from this campaign will be used for the purchase of hygienic products for teenagers in the home for abandoned children, and students and teachers of the International Primary and Secondary School in Zenica showed great interest and all of the products were sold in a record period of time at the minimum price of 1 BAM.
