General Directors at the head of large companies have the best paid work places in BiH, and their average salary with bonuses reaches up to 9,300 BAM, while the lowest earning are traders whose average salary is around 350 BAM.

“The highest-paid occupations from October last year to October this year are in the field of management and banking, and the lowest paid are workers in the sector of tourism, gastronomy, hotel and trade,” according to specialized portal “Plata.ba”, which deals with the labor market , since 2010, and analyzes the salaries of more than 300 jobs all across the country.

At the list, behind General Directors are Executive Directors whose monthly salary amounts to 7,217 BAM. Consultants, mainly engaged in the fields of economy, finance and banking, have salaries of around 5,000 BAM .

The directors of the sector in the field of banking earn 4,583 BAM, while regional managers earn 4,117 BAM in average. On the other hand, least paid are traders, and their monthly salary is only 350 BAM, and insurance agents earn only 10 BAM more.

Chefs, journalists and dispatchers, who are classified among the lowest paid jobs, have salary in the amount of 370 BAM in average, although chefs and journalists can get up to five times higher salary.

Only slightly higher salaries have waiters and cashiers, which amount to 390 BAM. Economic analyst Zoran Pavlovic believes that the low salaries in many areas and a large gap is hiding in under-developed production and the fact that only service industry is functioning well in our country.

When it comes to well-paid positions, they mainly belong to the highly educated and skilled workers with experience and responsibility for the management of large companies.

Pavlovic noted that positive changes can be made only with equalization of salaries for the same jobs in the public and the real sector.
