Hockey Coach in Turkey opens a Cafe on an Ice Rink

Hockey coach from Erzurum, Samil Koc, has brought to life the concept of a “cafe on an ice rink” in that Turkish city, an idea he saw in Russia.

While participating in an international competition in Russia, he saw that gardens had been turned into ice rinks.

At that moment, the 33-year-old decided to implement the idea in his own city.

He transformed a 200-square-meter area in a garden into a natural ice rink. He set up tables and chairs, offering visitors the chance to eat and drink while skating.

As he stated, he occasionally organizes ice hockey competitions as well.

He noted that the city has a climate suitable for this concept.

Furthermore, he also offers skating lessons to those interested.

“Visitors can come and enjoy food and drinks while skating. They can also watch others skate. People love this,” Koc said.

Soner Cintimar spends his free time at this cafe during the winter. He emphasized that he is grateful to now have the opportunity to enjoy this concept, which he had previously seen in other European cities.

“I recommend everyone to come here,” he added.

Hockey player Rabia Senem Delibas stressed that she had never had the chance to enjoy such a cafe concept before.

“It’s a place where you can eat, have fun, and have a great time. You can skate on a wide and beautiful rink with a coffee in hand, which is really nice for athletes,” Delibas added, Anadolu Agency writes.
