The House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) rejected the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Remunerations in the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which prevents the increase of income of the highest officials in the Bosnia and Herzegovina institutions.

The delegates accepted the request of the BiH Presidency to consider the proposed law under an urgent procedure, and then with seven votes “for”, seven against and one abstention, they did not adopt the proposed law.

Six delegates from the Federation of BiH voted “for” the proposed law, three were against, and one abstained. From the RS, one delegate was “for” and four against.

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina has proposed changes to the Law in such a way that the salaries and allowances of appointed and elected persons in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina that have a coefficient above 8.0 are calculated using a base of 535 BAM, while the base for calculating the salary of other employees in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina is 600 BAM.

The House of Representatives adopted the proposed law unanimously yesterday at its session, Fena reports.
