hotelsBosnia and Herzegovina is among the countries that have achieved the largest growth of tourist visits in the world in the last year and this year, according to official statistics. At the same time, domestic authorities are planning to open doors for big investments in order to use the enormous potential of BiH as an attractive destination.

This is why the deferral government included 15 projects from the field of tourism, worth 315 million BAM, among the 107 priorities of this institution. However, those are not the only investments in this field and, judging by the plans, dozens of great and representative hotels and tourist settlements will be built in BiH in the coming period.

FBiH Government intends to build new and reconstruct and expand the existing hotels in Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla, and new tourist destinations and mega infrastructure projects. The federal government approved all these projects several days ago, so that the implementation could begin already this year. Funds for investing have also been approved already for the majority of these destinations, based on private capital and international creditors.

The plans include the expansion of hotel capacities in Sarajevo, construction of hotels Skenderija, Marindvor and Nacional. The former barracks Jajce in the old part of Sarajevo is one of the symbols of the city and it has been waiting for investors for years. The government intends to revive this opportunity and find an investor who could make an elite hotel complex out of that facility with national value.

Value of investment in the construction of the hotel Skenderija has already been estimated to 158 million BAM and, once completed, it would revitalize the most attractive location in the center of Sarajevo.

This hotel will be situated in the northwestern part of the Skenderija complex. The project foresees construction of a five-star hotel worth 114 million BAM, renovation of the Skenderija plateau worth 30 million BAM, and the restoration of the Ice Hall worth 30 million BAM.

According to the documentation, the hotel will have 17 floors, 700 beds in total, 220 rooms, garage with 150 parking lots, a conference hall, numerous restaurants and amenities. Also planned are construction and expansion of hotels on Bjelašnica and Igman, where a pool will be built on Veliko polje, with a ski trail, wort 3.9 million BAM.

The plans also include construction of the complex Korea in Novo Sarajevo. Estimated value of the shopping complex Korea is 130 million BAM. This facility will cover around 10.000 square meters.

When it comes to Mostar, the plan is to expand the existing capacities in the hotel Ruža, with estimated value of 80 million BAM, and to reconstruct the hotel Neretva, whose reconstruction will cost 12 million BAM. Among the priorities of the FBiH Government are also investments in Banja Gračanica amounting to eight million BAM, in Banja Aquaterm Olovo in the amount of three million BAM, and in the complex Muška voda Kladanj in the amount of 25 million BAM.
