Peace Conference Sarajevo klix.baA peace conference titled “Zajedno i aktivno za bolju budućnost” was held yesterday in Sarajevo, at which young activists transferred their ideas to the officials of the BH local communities.

More than 100 young participants from across B&H had an opportunity to participate in this unique event where they presented their ideas about building peace to the officials of the local communities of Maglaj, Vlasenica, Kladanj, Bratunac, Glamoc, Petrovo, and Doboj.

Among the listeners was also the Mayor of the Municipality Gorazde Muhamed Ramovic, who delivered a clear message to those present about what is the future of B&H – the equality of its nations.

“You are the hope and we, the politicians, come, gather our votes, and leave. Do you think that the state and the Federation care about Gorazde? Not really. Do you believe that Banja Luka thinks about Foca? Not at all. More than 350 people from the RS are coming to Gorazde to work, and no one asks for the borders between entities”, said Ramovic.

Ramovic pointed out how problems still exist in certain parts of the country and that it must be worked more intensively there in order to overcome them.

“I recommend to the young people in Mostar to socialize even more, because the situation in the city is really negative and agonizing. You are the most distant from each other in the entire B&H, and you, young people, can fix it all”, Ramovic concluded.

Last year, Ramovic was declared the most successful Mayor-Manager in the FB&H because, according to the European Movement B&H, he represents in the best way one successful local community not only in B&H, but beyond as well.

The peace conference for young people was organized within the project PRO-Future (Trust, Understanding, and Responsibility for the Future) of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which is implemented by the Catholic Relief Services in cooperation with the Foundation Mozaik, Caritas BK B&H, Citizens’ Forum Tuzla, Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Banja Luka, and the Interreligious Council of B&H.
