General Collective Contract Signed faktor.baThe General Collective Contract was signed at the session of Economic-Social Council for the territory of FB&H which was held in Sarajevo yesterday.

President of Employers’ Association of FB&H Safudin Čengić said that, after four months, the time for signing finally came. He highlighted that the General Collective Contract is significantly better than the existing one and that there were numerous disputes, but that the social partners always managed to find a solution.

According to the General Collective Contract, minimum wage amounts to 406 BAM, the past performance remains the same (for one year of service the wage increases by 0.4 percent), the meal allowance ranges between 4 and 8.5 BAM. After the signing of the General Collective Contract, it will be expanded to all employers and employees in the Federation. Moreover, negotiations for signing of branch collective contracts will be launched immediately.

Prime Minsiter of FB&H Fadil Novalić said that the signing of the General Collective Contract is a confirmation that social dialogue in FB&H is possible.

“The Government of FB&H greets the signing and we advocated for the harmonization of the General Collective Contract with the Labor Law and the Reform Agenda, in order to ensure equal conditions and gradual rapprochement of now asymmetric conditions between employees in economy and public officials”, Novalić said.

President of the Economic-Social Council of FB&H Edhem Biber said that an important process which has been going on in FB&H finally reached the end.

“I believe that conditions are now made for the continuation of activities on collective contracts and that is what is going to happen in the coming days. This is good for the Federation, the Reform Agenda, and for stabilization of general situation in the society,” Biber pointed out.
