How many Unemployed Persons in BiH were in April?

unemploymentIn BiH were 524,061 people on the records of the institution and employment services in BiH in the month of April.

Compared to the previous month, the number of unemployed persons was decreased by 6,309 persons or 1.19 %. Of the total number of people who are looking for job, 272,737 of them or 52.04 % are women, as announced from the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH.

Unemployment decreased in the FBiH for 4953 persons (1.29 %), in Republika Srpska by 1,163 people (0.86 %), and in Brcko District by 193 persons (1.64 %).

In the structure of people who are looking for job, there is 141,026 or 26.91 % of unskilled workers, 9186 or 1.75 % semi-skilled workers, 176 186 or 33.62 % qualified workers, 2.762 or 0.53 % highly skilled workers, 1.440 or 0.27 % NSS (Primary school education) workers, 144.242 or 27.52 % SSS (High school education) workers, 7378 or 1.41 % VSS (Higher education) workers and 41,841 or 7.98 % of VSS (University degree) workers.

The largest number of registered unemployed persons are those with third level education or qualified workers who make 33.62 %, and workers with high school education who make 27.52 %.

In April, a total of 18,798 persons were deleted from the register of employment services. Of that number, 12,717 persons were employed.

At the same time, 5879 persons terminated their employment, while employers registered need for 5646 new workers in this period.

According to the Agency for Statistics of BiH, in March 2016, the number of employees in legal entities in BiH amounted to 721,633 persons, of which 299,420 were women. Compared to the month of February this year, the number of employed persons was increased by 0.5 %, and the number of employed women was also increased by 0.5 %.

Rate of registered unemployment for March 2016 was 42.4 % and compared to February 2016, it is decreased by 0.4 % point.
