A number of representatives of the private and public sector, as well as organizations supporting the development of the local economy have taken part in an informative and promotional event where they had a chance to get acquainted with the opportunities for awarding grants in support of firms, farmers and entrepreneurs. The event took place in Doboj and was organized in the scope of a joint project of the European Union, FR Germany and the international organizations GIZ, UNDP and ILO.

This event, and the following ones will offer a chance to learn about good experiences of the participants in the ongoing EU projects (EU ProLocal, EU LID and EU LEP), and to answer the questions regarding the upcoming public Calls for Grants.

EU4Business is a project which supports the development of the private sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the event in Doboj is one of the six informative and promotional events which will be organized throughout BiH in October this year. The direct beneficiaries of financial support are local companies, farmers/agricultural producers and entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the project contributes to reform processes in BiH and creation of a more favorable business environment.

A total of EUR10 million is earmarked for the private sector development in BiH through grants. Apart from direct assistance, the EU4Business project will also provide technical assistance to institutions and future beneficiaries in building their capacities.

This project will be co-financed by the European Union (EUR15 million) and the Federal Republic of Germany (EUR1.1 million) in the period between April 2018 and March 2022 and will be implemented by GIZ, UNDP and ILO in cooperation with local institutions.
