The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), at the suggestion of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, adopted a Rulebook about the controls and conditions for bringing in personal packages of products of meat sources into BiH, with the label “EI”, which confirms compliance with EU legislative acts in this field.

The rulebook establishes the conditions which must be fulfilled in order to bring into the country meat products for non-commercial purposes and which are part of personal baggage or that are sent as small packages to physical individuals. The goal is to prevent the import of meat which causes infectious diseases into BiH.

In that way, one will be able to bring into BiH meat, certain meat and dairy products under 500 grams from the EU countries and another 11 countries, among which are Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia.

The Rulebook will be implemented from December 1st and by then, the Veterinarian’s Office in BiH will inform the public and responsible agencies of its content.
